Out of Glasgow's tourist loops, Cafezique is well worth the detour. In an old-fashioned building that used to house a dairy producer, this restaurant plays the romantic card. Looking like an English cottage, it reveals a shabby-chic interior design, storing bargain-hunted items and eclectic pieces of aged furniture. The stone walls and period wooden floors have been kept. Colourful crockery has been laid on rustic-looking tables, watched over by large black-and-white serigraphs.
Food lovers rush to Cafezique all day long, from breakfast to dinner, and revel in Mediterranean-influenced cuisine prepared with local products. For brunch, the menu goes English all the way (with a vegetarian option), serving a wide variety of eggs. At night, select a few tapas (hummus, olives, toast…) or more substantial food like a marrow risotto with goat cheese. Healthy food that will set the palate astir.
