Bar Italia: Where Italians meet up in London
London clearly has a thing for Italian food. There are the chains like Pizza Express, Zizzi or Caffè Nero, but the cosmopolitan city also offers loads of great finds run by Italians all around. Just follow our lead.
Our tour starts just a stone's throw from Covent Garden. Here you'll find a spot that all of London's 147,000 Italian transplants know. More than 60 years after it first opened, Bar Italia, on 22 Frith Street, is still going strong as the place to go for coffee aficionados. Smack dab in the center of Soho, surrounded by green, white and red flags with portraits of Italy's most acclaimed celebrities, you can sip espresso the way it was meant to be enjoyed and sample genuine Parma ham.

Milan sets up shop in Soho
When your sweet tooth needs a little attention, it's time to pop over to Wardour Street to sample some pastries from Princi. This casual Italian eatery is owned by Rocco Princi, a Milan native who's passionate about good food and great ingredients. The menu at this temple of fine Italian cooking features dishes inspired by his grandmother's cooking. For example, you'll find offerings with lemons and apricots, pistachios and chocolate, oranges and pastry cream, and even almond croissants. If savory is more your style, there are also classics like pizza and chicken Milanese.
