Picnic at Loch Lomond

Picnic at Loch Lomond

Loch Lomond National Park is less than an hour drive from Glasgow and offers a spectacular landscape.

Enjoy the Scottish countryside and breath the Highlands air on the shores of Loch Lomond. This great lake surrounded by mountains is the largest Scottish loch and the most widespread inland water source of the United Kingdom, with a size of 71 km2 (27 mile2) This is where Glaswegians go to clear their minds on weekends, enjoying many water sports and activities, among which speed boat trips.

In wintertime, stunning walks are aplenty in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Besides the lake itself, it counts 21 munros, 3,000 feet high mountains. You will fall for the charm of this spectacular landscape comprised of rocks, forests and moors, all giving intense and surreal colouring to this majestic site. If you are careful, you may be able to catch a glimpse of red squirrels, otters and even better, golden eagles.
