Regency Hotel: a garden in the heart of the city

This is a lovely spot to call home close to the Jewish Museum and the synagogue, with a very friendly staff, and balconies overlooking the garden.

With only 32 rooms, the Regency is a real Florentine villa, built outside the historic centre and surrounded by a private, very quiet garden. The spirit of Tuscany awaits you on the terrace and balconies, which open onto this green area and its restaurant, the Relais Le Jardin. It is a wonderful holiday resort for those who want to escape the crowds, yet it is close to everything, including the largest (and most beautiful) Italian synagogue, which is only five minutes' away on foot. Sublimely restored by the Salvatore Ferragamo Group, it was built in Moorish style between 1874 and 1882. The white marble facade hides a pink and red interior painted in the Byzantine style. Upstairs, visit its small Jewish Museum, before settling in to snack on falafels and other vegetarian and kosher dishes at Ruth's, a favourite of Woody Allen's.
