Be part of the change

Air France is committed to limiting the environmental impact of its activities on the ground and in flight on a daily basis.

Commitment for 2019

Air France will eliminate 210 million single-use plastic items by the end of 2019, the equivalence of 1,300 tons of single-use plastic.

They will be replaced by sustainable alternatives on all flights.

Air France Roots Up for Spring

This November, for each booking made via the AF.ca website for a trip departing from Canada, Air France will fund the planting of one tree.

This project, operated by our partner Pur Projet, will support farm owners in Manitowaning, Ontario to restore the biodiversity of ecosystems on their lands.
The planting of trees will form a windbreak and forest buffer around the farms’ gardens which supplies fresh produce to the region.
In the long term, this will bring back biodiversity to these lands, protect vegetable production areas from the wind and weather events and improve the health of the soil and water.

REDUCE OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT

One of our focus point is to minimize our impact on the environment, by reducing our CO2 emissions of 20% by 2020.

Our actions to achieve this goal include new fuel-efficient aircraft, implementation of weight reduction measures on board, and optimization of flight routes in order for us to minimize our negative impacts.
